Creative Action

Austin, TX

Through a suite of after school, in-school, and community-based programs, Creative Action builds community, teaches the arts, practices social justice and fosters social and emotional development. Creative Action believes when youth develop their creativity, compassion, confidence, and critical thinking skills, and build meaningful connections with peers and positive role models, they become successful adults who thrive in their careers and relationships and contribute to their communities.

The WFF has proudly supported Creative Action since 2007.  Grants awards to date:  ~$450,000.

“Since the foundation began supporting Creative Action, it has helped the organization grow from a small grassroots nonprofit to one of the largest arts education organizations in the country. Additionally, the foundation has led the way for a sustainable, coordinated system of arts education in Central Texas, investing in large-scale arts partnerships through the AISD Creative Learning Initiative. Their investment and leadership has driven school transformation across our city as thousands more youth receive the benefits of creative learning with measurable results in student achievement, teacher development, and personal growth.”
